Pleasantville Appalachia Service
Project
We have
returned from our July trip to Hinton, WV Each summer we send youth and
adult volunteers to Central Appalachia for a week-long home-repair ministry with
the Appalachia Service Project, Inc., a Tennessee-based non-profit organization.
This year, thirty-six Pleasantville ASP volunteers prepared for the mission trip
by doing local community service projects with A-Home. We spent a week repairing and rebuilding
four homes in Hinton, West Virginia as volunteers for ASP, Inc. This past spring, our volunteers prepared for the mission trip as follows:
It costs about $700 to send each volunteer to Appalachia. A big part of that cost goes to ASP, Inc., which purchases the building materials we use to repair people's homes. We’re grateful to our supporters and “shareholders” who make this mission possible!
