Social Justice Internship

Two years ago, the church began a new program for youth – the social justice internship. Participants in this program are between 10th and 12th grade, and have had experiences on mission trips that have caused them to ask bigger picture questions.   The program is both educational and experiential. The interns have gone on mission trips, screened documentaries and advocated in Albany on issues of injustice for migrant farm workers. They visited the United Nations Presbyterian Church office to learn about hunger issues worldwide.

The interns are currently active with our Loaves and Fishes Program and helped educate congregation members that they can use their wallets to advocate for the economically underserved. The students made Fair Trade products available to use for Christmas gifts.
