Appalachia Service Project

Pleasantville Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Mission

Pleasantville has a long tradition of sending volunteers to Central Appalachia each summer for a week-long home-repair ministry with the Appalachia Service Project, a Tennessee-based non-profit organization.

In 2023, our community sent 21 volunteers to Rupert, West Virginia to make critical home repairs for two families.  Our team included 9 adult team leaders, 3 young adult leaders who had previously volunteered with us as youths, and 9 first-time high school aged youth volunteers.  We brought two projects to completion, with every volunteer doing their best during an intense week to make homes warmer, safer, and drier. See some shots from our trip here:

Thanks to the support of our community and our volunteers’ willingness to serve, we are now planning a mission trip for the summer of 2024!  If you are in the Pleasantville, NY area and would like to volunteer with us, please download this information package and application form, or contact us asp@pvillepresby.org.
